When thinking about methods to combat climate change, and eliminate the biggest producers of toxins and waste, the immediate thought is renewable energy. Solar panels, wind turbines, these are different methods utilizing renewable energy in order to combat climate change. It is obvious that the energy sources the world currently relies on must be eliminated, for they are destructive to the environment and causing irreparable damage. Renewable energy resources are viewed as an easy fix. They are a way to produce “cleaner” energy, and are rooted in sources that naturally replenish themselves. However, “cleaner” and “clean”, are two very different things, and unfortunately our current world does not seem to care about the contrast. It is absolutely no secret that stand-up comedy is one of my favorite things in the entire world. I learned this about myself about a year or two ago. I was watching Saturday Night Live, and during a weekend update Pete Davidson came on and talked with his friend John Mulaney. I immedialty was captivated and falling out of my seat laughing at the things this man said. I realized shortly after that I needed to see more of him, and to my delight he had not one but three stand-up specials on Netflix. It’s no secret that I’m a Marvelous Mrs. Maisel fan. I watch and rewatch year round and always finish a new season within a week of it being released. If I’m being completely honest, I should probably learn some restraint, for when I finish a new season I have a wait a full year for more episodes. When asked to think of their childhoods, most people look back on distinct memories and experiences that pop out. When someone asks me to think of my childhood, the first thing I think of is The Princess Bride. I was introduced to this movie at a very young age, and I vividly remember watching my dad and aunt talk along with the characters as it played. Now, as a senior in high school, I have to have seen that movie at least two hundred times and, like my dad and aunt, can now recite it from memory. …

It took me months to watch The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, I had seen all the hype, Emmys and Golden Globes just after one season, something very rare, and advertisements for it constantly flooded my Amazon video account. My sister watched it and raved about it to my entire family for weeks, and even then I still didn’t watch it. Eventually, the day I was home very sick, and I reached a point where the boredom of being stuck at home all day with nothing to do was killing me, so I pulled up Amazon video and started to browse for literally anything. I decided to click on The Marvelous Maisel simply as an attempt to ease my boredom.
